ABOUT CASSANDRA
Cassandra Harvey is a Canadian victim advocate, speaker and survivor-informed educator working at the intersection of human trafficking prevention, victim advocacy and professional education.
Cassandra speaks at the intersection of human trafficking, victim advocacy, systemic vulnerability, prevention and survivor-informed response—bringing together lived experience and professional practice.
Her lived experience includes growing up in the child welfare system, experiencing exploitation and violence, becoming a teen mother, and rebuilding her life. Today she uses that experience alongside professional knowledge to educate communities and frontline professionals.
The Story
01 — THE STORY
Growing up in the child welfare system, Cassandra experienced instability, violence and exploitation at an early age. The systems intended to protect her instead exposed her to deeper vulnerability—shaping an intimate understanding of how exploitation takes root.
Becoming a young mother marked a turning point. Rebuilding her life demanded not only survival, but a deliberate reconstruction of safety, stability and selfhood. That journey informs everything she teaches today.
Cassandra shares her story not to recount trauma, but to highlight the conditions that allow exploitation to occur—and to help professionals recognize those conditions in the people they serve.

The Work
Cassandra's professional work spans victim advocacy, professional education, speaking and training, and justice-sector engagement. She supports victims navigating complex systems and educates the professionals who serve them.
She designs and delivers keynotes, workshops and professional training for law enforcement, child welfare, victim services, legal professionals, educators, healthcare providers and community organizations—translating lived experience into practical, survivor-informed practice.
