Recepient of Ministry of Attorney General’s Victim Services Awards of Distinction
I am honoured to be a recipient of the 2024–2025 Victim Services Award of Distinction by the Ministry of the Attorney General (Government of Ontario). My heartfelt thanks to Omar Ha-Redeye for the nomination and constant support. Your belief in my work means more than words can express. Thank you not only for the nomination, but for your steadfast commitment to trauma-informed care and your unwavering support of survivors. Your advocacy reminds us all that systems can — and must — be rooted in compassion, dignity, and justice.
This award is not just about me — it’s a reflection of every survivor who continues to rise, resist, and reclaim their voice. Human trafficking devastates lives, especially among those already exposed to vulnerabilities. Too often, survivors face systemic obstacles that compound their trauma — mistrust in authorities, criminalization, and a lack of safe, accessible supports. Recognition like this helps shift the focus where it belongs: on healing, accountability, and survivor-centered solutions.
Congratulations to all the other remarkable recipients and nominees. Your work is outstanding.
